Dr. Melissa (Lisa) Brown is originally from Denver Colorado. She studied medicine at the University of Sydney and completed her GP training in the Illawarra area in NSW. She has previously worked as a clinical skills lecturer at the University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine, a medical educator with GP Synergy, and a GP with the Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service and the Illawarra Women's Health Centre.

She currently works as a GP in Thirroul NSW. She is also a medical educator with the RACGP, a clinical advisor with the Sphere Coalition and a clinical content lead with the Australian contraception and abortion primary care practitioner support network (AusCAPPS)

Her passion and focus is on providing affordable and easily accessible medical abortions, long acting reversible contraception and contraceptive and sexual health services in a primary care setting.
