The Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth (Stillbirth CRE) and Australian College of Midwives (ACM) are pleased to announce the 2019 winner of the Stillbirth CRE Travel Fellowships!

Travel to National Annual Stillbirth Update

The purpose of the fellowship is to provide a midwife who is based in a rural or remote setting and is a member of ACM to participate in the annual meeting and update held by the Stillbirth CRE. ACM is a partner in the Stillbirth CRE and this Fellowship is an opportunity for ACM and the Stillbirth CRE to come together to support two midwives to attend the annual event and network with colleagues and leaders from around the country.

Terms and Conditions

If you are awarded this fellowship, you must:

  • Within three months of the National Annual Stillbirth Update provide a short biography with a photo and a short written report on the experience of attending the meeting for use on the ACM and Stillbirth CRE websites and newsletters
  • Use the funds for travel to the national Annual Stillbirth Update in the year the grant is awarded.
  • The Fellowship will be provided to a midwife, registered with the NMBA, or a midwifery student who is currently undertaking a pre-registration midwifery program, to receive $1000 to assist with travel and accommodation to the Stillbirth CRE Update.

Eligibility

  • Midwife, currently registered with the NMBA, or a midwifery student who is currently undertaking a pre-registration midwifery program
  • Resident in a rural or remote part of Australia (outside a capital city or major metropolitan area)
  • Member of the ACM for at least 24 months prior to submitting the application
  • Able to clearly articulate why attending an update on stillbirth will be beneficial to her/his practice in a rural or remote setting
  • Have not defaulted on the terms and conditions of an ACM grant or scholarship previously awarded
