Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to write QUIZ QUESTIONS for the existing ACM e-learning online courses.

ACM Online Courses

  • Epidural and spinal anaesthesia (3CPD)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (3CPD)
  • Supporting a women to breastfeed (8CPD)
  • Continence: Importance of the midwife (8CPD)
  • Women want to know: Pregnancy & Alcohol (3CPD)
  • Peer Review (5CPD)
  • Dehydration: Considerations and concerns for the midwife (8CPD)


Responsibilities

  • The successful applicants will be required to review the course content and create quiz questions to that can be used to assess individuals understanding of the content.
  • The quiz questions will be used to strengthen assessment methods in the existing courses.
  • We are looking for a minimum of 3 quiz masters/writers.
  • We are looking for individuals who have availability between July and December 2018.  It is intended that the work will commence early July and run until mid-December. The exact dates for commencement have not yet been determined.
  • Allocation of courses will be determined at an initial review meeting.

Selection Criteria

EOIs will be assessed against the following criteria

  1. Commit to participate in the quiz writing work for the ACM online courses.
  2. Have access to suitable computer/internet capabilities, and the ability to access the Online Courses via the ACM Learning Management System (LMS) – Midwives Learn or review the content in the related word document Master Files.
  3. Have relevant experience in writing quiz questions or assessments for independent learners, specifically with a focus on online learning and midwifery.
  4. Undertake the work within the agreed timeframe.  
  5. Whilst undertaking the quiz writing work to maintain ACM confidentiality around course content and intellectual property at all times.  A deed of confidentiality will be required to be signed prior to starting work.

Submitting your EOI

To participate in this quiz writing work you should ensure your application covers the following:

  • confirmation of your membership of the Australian College of Midwives,
  • Address the selection criteria 1-5 as noted above.
  • confirm that you have access to the internet and are able to use a computer to write quiz questions in Microsoft Word or a compatible application, and
  • confirms your commitment to complete the quiz writing work within the timeframes indicated

Why should you think about participating?

  • You would receive a letter of acknowledgement/thanks for your participation in this initiative which can be used in your professional portfolio.
  • The role can be added to your CV
  • You could chose to log all additional hours that you undertake reviewing the text and writing the questions in your professional portfolio as CPD hours.
  • You will gain access to a range of midwifery related topics with which to refresh you own knowledge as well as being pivotal in the development and learning of midwives around Australia.
  • You will gain or enhance your understanding and experience in working within the online educational space (which is another skill that can be added to a CV)
  • There is no financial reimbursement for this work but you would have access to the ACM online courses that were assigned to you for quiz writing (min 3 CPD, max 38 CPD).  If you choose to also undertake the online course you would access to a Certificate of Completion when you have completed the activities in the online course (15-190% of your annual CPD requirements for Registration).
