EOI ACM Observer- International Confederation of Midwives Council in Bali
The Australian College of Midwives (ACM) is a member of the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) which holds a Council meeting alongside the triennial ICM Congress. In 2020, this meeting will be in Bali.
This Council meeting is the official meeting of the ICM where all member associations send delegates to contribute to the meeting and vote on resolutions. This is an opportunity to engage with international midwifery leaders and learn first-hand about initiatives that are being undertaken to raise the profile of midwifery on a global scale.
As ACM is a member association we are also permitted to send observers. These observers can not participate in the meeting and do not have voting rights, but if you have an interest in global midwifery or midwifery leadership or would just like to expand your horizons this is an excellent opportunity to consider. Observers can also log their time as professional development.
ACM invites an expression of interest from members who fit the following criteria and would like to attend ICM Council as observer representatives of ACM.
- You must be a member of ACM
- Demonstrated interest and/or participation in international midwifery development and maternity care
- Ability to self-fund and pay any fees levied by ICM (these may include meals/transport etc)
- Ability to attend all sessions of council and agreement to provide a report to ACM CEO and a report for Australian Midwifery News on matters of interest to ACM members after the meeting
This role does not attract any remuneration from ACM and the observer will attend the ICM Council at their own cost. Please submit your EOI addressing the above criteria to CEO Luke Williamson, via email@example.com by cob Monday 6th January 2020.
