This high level strategy and vision document was unambiguous and reader-friendly and the concepts and ambitions appear achievable on a glabl scale, if suitable support and funding is applied by governments and associated industries.

The Framework provides a comprehensive all-level vision and practical proposed actions for national and local services.

Our response highlighted the need for every childbearing woman to have access to a midwife as their primary carer and where possible access to (or the choice of accessing) continuity of care or continuity of carer practice models.  Current evidence clearly identifies that midwives are key to ensuring safe, quality maternity care; and that mothers and communities benefit from access to midwifery continuity of care models which aligns with the concepts, goals and aspirations of the Nurturing Care framework.
