Position statement on maternal and perinatal care for asylum seeking women held in detention
We are currently developing a position statement on maternal and perinatal care for asylum seeking women held in detention - please see the draft statement below. The Draft has been developed by a working group specifically tasked with this project, made up of midwives and experts in this field.
To ensure the final endorsed Position Statement is informed by the latest evidence and expertise and reflects professional and regulatory codes, standards and frameworks, we now ask for feedback from members and any interested stakeholders on the draft.
Unless provided in-confidence, submissions will be published on the ACM website after the public consultation period, to encourage discussion and inform stakeholders and the broader community.
Once the consultation period ends, the feedback will be collated to inform a final draft. This will then be reviewed by the project working group and submitted for endorsement by the ACM Board. The final Position Statement will then be published on this website.
The deadline for submissions is COB Friday 27th May 2016. Submissions received after this date will not be considered.
Please read the draft position statement below and then answer the consultation survey questions - please find link to survey below.
Please contact Sarah Stewart, Midwifery Adviser, Policy Unit, if you have any queries about this consultation.
