Midwifery Practice Review Advisory Committee

The Midwifery Practice Review Advisory Committee (MPRAC) provides advice and makes recommendations to the ​
​College on matters pertaining to the ongoing governance and successful management of the MPR program.

The Midwifery Practice Review Advisory Committee's role is to:

  • Provide expert advice to the College (including the Board) via the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Australian College of Midwives (College) on matters related to the Midwifery Practice Review (MPR) program;
  • Provide advice  to enable successful management of the MPR program;
  • Work with the MPR Program Manager to ensure the MPR program continues to meet the current strategic directions of the College;
  • Assist in the development of the MPR marketing strategy;
  • Provide advice, review, update and/or  develop relevant documents, website information and publications related to the MPR program;
  • Identify opportunities and provide advice regarding negotiations with key stakeholders in relation to funding opportunities;
  • Provide advice on MPR reviewer training and updates/feedback;
  • Develop, monitor and evaluate the review processes including reviewing feedback and recommendations from MPR reviewers, and reviewing feedback and recommendations from midwives who have completed MPR;
  • Carry out the responsibilities/role in a culturally-safe manner, demonstrating respect and understanding of the wide variety of cultural beliefs and practices members may come across during their time on this working group.
