Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) Advisory Committee


The Baby Friendly Health Initiative Advisory Committee supports the ACM to implement BFHI key objectives, strategies and tasks.

The Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) Advisory Committee' role is to:

  • Provide expert advice on matters related to BFHI.
  • Provide expert advice and support regarding ways in which to utilise national and international policies and developments in newborn/infant nutrition to assist with the ongoing development of BFHI in Australia.
  • Make recommendations about ways in which the College can effectively contribute to the ongoing development of BFHI.
  • Undertake specific tasks or projects as requested from time to time, such as drafting College policies relating to BFHI, supporting ACM’s delegates to prepare for meetings, responding to requests from other national and international organisations for information and advice, and other relevant projects relating to BFHI.
  • Represent the College as either individuals or as a group as appropriate when requested to do so in matters of relevance to BFHI and as resources permit.
  • Liaise with national and international stakeholder organisations and individuals on behalf of the College when requested, and as appropriate.
  • Provide input on the selection of experts to represent the College on national and international committees relating to BFHI as necessary.
