All midwives must undertake professional development to maintain competence, keep knowledge current and enhance their skills.
Midwives are required to undertake 20 hours of CPD every year. Midwives who also hold a nurse registration must complete 20 CPD hours relevant to midwifery and 20 CPD hours relevant to nursing. However, there may be some cross over. For more information, go to the NMBA factsheet about CPD.
ACM offers a range of activities that are available to all midwives. ACM members receive some CPD FREE with their membership and other courses are offered at up to 50% off.
