What CPD activities are offered by ACM?
The ACM recognises that every midwife undertakes learning that is individual to their needs and as such offers a wide variety of opportunities for midwives to engage and address their CPD requirements in each registration year. Being a national organisation with midwifery as its core focus enables the ACM to deliver CPD tailored to the profession and responsive to midwives' needs and requests. Access to ACM learning opportunities is not limited to ACM members or midwives, however ACM members benefit from discounted rates when access fees apply, and content, where identified, may be midwifery specific.
Opportunities exist to attend the annual ACM National Conference which is held in a different Australian city every year, attracting both local and international midwives and health professionals. There are also a number of state-based workshops, conferences and seminars every year ensuring there is variety and multiple opportunities to network with peers in the face to face setting.
ACM delivers a minimum of 12 new webinars per year each attracting on average 1 CPD hour. Webinars can be accessed either at the live event or as a recording at a later date if the live time did not suit an individual’s work/family schedule. Each new webinar adds to the extensive webinar library which currently contains webinars on over 30 topics (see our Webinar Recordings), and they are free to ACM members! (5 of our webinars are also free to non members)
ACM has a number of online courses that can be completed at a discounted price for ACM members.
Our webinars and courses are available for teaching purposes as bulk purchases. If you are looking to purchase access for more than 10 users, or for more information about e-learning bulk orders, consult this page.
Journals provide a fabulous resource for midwives to obtain CPD: ACM recommends the internationally renowned peer review journal Women and Birth, to which ACM members have free access to.
Our magazine (delivered to ACM members' door for free!) can also be a source of CPD: you can consult this page if you wish to learn more about how your work could get published!
External ACM CPD-recognised events
ACM has a CPD recognition program which assesses courses that are delivered by businesses/individuals external to the ACM and have a midwifery focus. The intention of the recognition is to highlight to midwives the variety of midwifery-related opportunities that are out there and locate the details in one easy-to-find place

Each time you complete a CPD activity with us a certificate of completion will be available to you and will display the number of CPD hours completed for that activity.
