CPD Information

ACM CPD endorsement applications are currently paused and will reopen in May 2026. During this time, we are reviewing and strengthening our endorsement guidelines while welcoming an expanded midwifery team, ensuring we continue to uphold quality and excellence in CPD. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an important foundation of lifelong learning and helps midwives maintain their competence to practice. The NMBA registration standard: Continuing Professional Development requires midwives to complete a minimum number of CPD hours per year directly related to a midwife’s context of practice. A CPD activity can include a workshop, conference, seminar, podcast, online learning package or short course. Benchmarking and quality assurance of CPD activities are essential to ensure that education is evidence-based and meets the needs of Australia’s midwives. Our endorsement process ensures that all CPD activities we endorse meet a set of Standards.

Applications will be reviewed and processed once the correct application fee has been paid. Please select the correct option below and follow the prompts. Alternatively please email us here if you require an invoice. You will be advised of the result of your application in 4-6 weeks.

CPD Endorsement is for a two year period. The content of your activity must not change during this time or endorsement is void. Endorsement and license
of the ACM CPD Endorsement badge begins the day it is sent to you.

In the application you will need to upload:

• Key Learning Outcomes and how these are addressed by the CPD activity
• A reference list of all evidence used in developing and presenting the CPD activity
• Names, qualifications and experience of all individual/s developing content (eg. link to Researchgate or Linkedin)
• For online CPD activities: a link to the activity with login details
• For in-person CPD activities: a program / run sheet, any PowerPoints or other presentations, any material that is handed out to participants, and any presenters’ notes
• For in-person CPD activities: evidence of Public Liability and / or Professional Indemnity Insurance

Your Endorsement badge is included in your application fee and will be emailed to you once your application has been approved.
