ACT Branch

ACM ACT Branch offers scholarships for up to $1000 to provide funding for professional development activities e.g., course, conference, research study or study tour which will support a branch member in their continuing professional development and directly or indirectly, improve midwifery care for women and their children.

The ACM (ACT) Rhodanthe Lipsett Award ($1000) is awarded to a midwife, or group of midwives, in recognition of their contribution to midwifery and birthing families.

Gippsland Branch

The Gippsland Branch scholarships aim to provide midwives and midwifery students of the ACM who practice in Gippsland with financial assistance to attend conferences or continuing education events. Scholarships are available for up to $500 for full members and $250 for student members.

Townsville  Branch

The Townsville Branch scholarships aim to provide midwives and midwifery students of the ACM who practice in the Townsville region with financial assistance to attend conferences or continuing education events. Scholarships are available for up to $1000.

NSW Branch

The ACM NSW branch awards scholarships up to the value of $1,000.00 each year, given in memory of Margaret Lambert.  The purpose of the scholarship is to provide midwives and midwifery students of NSW Branch with assistance to attend conferences, workshops or short courses.

ACM NSW Branch has established the Pat Brodie scholarship (up to $5000) to provide members with financial assistance to undertake research in relation to midwifery and maternity services.

NB. This does not include support for conference attendance or presentation.

The QLD Branch scholarships (up to $750) are to provide funding for professional development activities (e.g. course, conference, research study, study tour)

SA Branch

ACM SA Branch offers the Fiona Kemp Scholarship (up to $500) to our full, graduate and/or student members to advance the professional profile of midwifery by aiding midwives in the undertaking of midwifery research and/or assisting midwives to attend and/or participate in national or international conferences.

TAS Branch

The Tasmania Branch offers National Conference Scholarships (up to $500) to provide midwives and midwifery students of the ACM who practice in Tasmania with financial assistance to attend the 2023 ACM National Conference in Adelaide.

VIC Branch

In 2009 Margaret Mabbit was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to nursing as a midwife, and to the Royal Women's Hospital. In naming this scholarship after her we honour her commitment and contribution to the Australian Midwifery Community and the families we care for.

 

Submission must address: ‘How will your participation in this education program impact on your practice as a midwife?'

In 1985 Margaret was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for services to nursing, particularly midwifery education and practice. In naming this scholarship after her we honour her leadership in the Australian Midwifery Community and the wider community.
