Eligibility
Midwives can apply to become an ACM Pacific Affiliate if they are a midwife registered in one of the Small Pacific Island Countries and are working as a midwife, midwifery educator or midwifery manager in the Pacific Island country (outside Australia and New Zealand).
As an ACM Pacific Associate member, you can access ACM webinars, e-newsletters and the ACM journal Women and Birth plus enjoy discounted registration for ACM conferences and events.
Application Document (have this ready before starting the application process)
- Certificate: Bachelor of Midwifery OR
- Other Relevant Health Qualification Certificate
It is desirable that applicants are already a member of the professional society for midwives in their country (if the country has a midwifery society, eg. PNG, Solomon Islands, Fiji).
Applications for Associate Membership will be assessed by the ACM Membership team and sent to the CEO for approval.

Terms and Conditions
Associate - Pacific Members, who move outside of the Pacific Islands or other Countries and/or territories approved by the Board from time to time, for a period of not more than twelve (12) months shall be entitled to retain their membership of the College as an Associate Member resident and practising in a Pacific Island Country/Territory. Associate Members who work outside of the Pacific Islands or other Countries and/or Territories approved by the Board from time to time for more than 12 months will be advised of the intention to remove their membership of the College as an Associate Member unless they are able to provide evidence that they have returned to a Pacific Island Country or other Country/Territory approved by the Board from time to time, or are able to demonstrate that they meet the requirements for membership of the College under another category of membership and make application for that category pursuant to all terms and conditions relevant at the time.
