VBAC Workshop with Hazel Keedle (Sydney)

Join this one day workshop designed to equip clinicians with the knowledge and confidence to support birth choices around VBAC.

Join us for an engaging and practical workshop exploring Vaginal Birth After Caesarean (VBAC), facilitated by Hazel Keedle, one of Australia's most respected voices in VBAC care. 

This interactive session will provide midwives and maternity care professionals with the latest evidence, tools, and strategies to confidently support women planning a VBAC. Hazel will share research insights and clinical approaches that promote informed choice, respectful care, and positive outcomes.

Topics include:

 Current evidence, benefits and risks of VBAC and repeat caesareans
-  Dr Keedle's 'Four Factors' framework for supporting women's informed decision making
-  Practical strategies from clinician and doula perspectives
 Communication tools to foster respectful, women-centred care

Assoc Professor Hazel Keedle

Hazel Keedle is an Associate Professor of Midwifery and Director of Academic Midwifery Programs at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Western Sydney University. With over two decades of experience as a clinician, educator, and researcher in nursing and midwifery, Hazel is dedicated to improving maternity experiences worldwide. Her research focuses on vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), birth trauma, and overall maternity experiences. She is particularly interested in understanding and addressing the complexities surrounding VBAC and the impact of childbirth on women's well-being.

Hazel's work is recognised nationally and internationally, with numerous invited conference and seminar presentations and publications in academic journals and books. She is the author of "Birth after Caesarean: Your Journey to a Better Birth" and "A Clinicians Guide to Better Birth after Caesarean," both grounded in her PhD findings. As the lead researcher of the largest international maternity experiences survey, The Birth Experience Study - International Collaboration, Hazel is committed to amplifying the voices of women and using research to drive positive change in maternity care. She is passionate about advocating for women's rights and ensuring access to respectful and supportive care for every woman during childbirth.

We understand that circumstances can change, however ACM has contractual commitments with venues for in person events and as such requires adequate written notice for any cancellations. From 1 January 2024, the following will apply to requests for cancellations/refunds:

  Cancellation more than 28 days prior to event date        - Full refund provided (minus an admin fee of $75.00) 
     
  Cancellation less than 28 days, but more than 14 days   - Credit applied to profile for future use (minus an admin fee of $75.00)
     
  Cancellation 14 days or less prior to event date    - No credit or refund provided
