Are you ready for adventure in Australia's sunniest city? Empower women from diverse backgrounds as part of an innovative mixed risk Midwifery Group Practice.
Exciting opportunities await at the Darwin MGP including working with women from remote communities and home births. The MGP is a service within Women, Children and Youth, available to women experiencing all levels of pregnancy risk. The MGP philosophy is to protect and support women with evidence based, holistic care from a MGP midwife throughout the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postnatal period. The MGP provides a high standard of contemporary midwifery care in an on-call case load midwifery model. MGP midwives work in small teams providing care co-ordination to women with pregnancies complicated by psychosocial and/or obstetric risk, as well as women planning a homebirth. There are five teams within the MGP and midwives will be required to provide care and support across all teams including home birth and maternity services within the division.

Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Apply specialist knowledge, skills, attributes and abilities within a defined practice area in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as with families, groups and communities.
2. Be recognised by the team for their expertise, be a resource for others, and engage in agreed independent practice under the supervision and management of the team.
3. Be accountable for providing sound professional advice and for assessment, planning, review, evaluation and coordination of comprehensive client care and/or case management within the speciality area.
4. Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
