About your opportunity:
The Health and Wellbeing Service Group at Townsville University Hospital is currently seeking to recruit a Clinical Midwife Consultant - Perinatal Loss to their Maternal Fetal Medicine Department. This position is a permanent part-time position, working 38 hours per fortnight.

Townsville University Hospital is expanding the Northern Queensland Maternal Fetal Medicine Service to provide five-day-a-week access to our mothers and babies, increasing our expert clinical support and management, and saving families from expensive and disruptive travel to southern climes.

The expansion of maternal fetal medicine at Townsville University Hospital includes a multi-disciplinary team including a CMFM, Ultra sonographers, midwives, social worker, psychologist and First Nations advanced health worker.

You are invited to experience this exciting opportunity as part of a significant expansion of maternal fetal medicine at Northern Australia's largest tertiary hospital. Women and families will be able to access world-class care, closer to home, with the support of medical, sonography, midwifery, health worker and allied health specialist staff. The Northern Queensland Maternal Fetal Medicine Service is the only service outside south-east Queensland providing a comprehensive range of screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to women and families in public and private healthcare sectors.

The Clinical Midwife Consultant Perinatal Loss will be responsible for ensuring coordination of care and leadership in the management of women with perinatal death; monitoring and developing evidence-based standards of practice; implementing changes to clinical practice; policy development; educating staff and initiating research and quality improvement activities.

You will demonstrate leadership and role modelling for midwives and midwifery students.

Generous remuneration package value up to $79,949 p.a. comprising:
• Salary range of $64.90 to $70.47 p.h. (NG7)
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading.

Requirements:
• It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• Possession of class C drivers' licence.
• Travel by light aircraft may be required.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
Highly Desirable:
• Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
