The Maternity Services at Townsville University Hospital, is currently seeking to recruit a Clinical Midwife (Rotational) on a permanent full-time or part-time basis, hours negotiable.
The Clinical Midwife will provide clinical expertise, support and education to midwifery staff within the Unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care. This role is for an experienced clinician who has the ability to work in partnership with women to provide support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period.
The Townsville Hospital provides maternity care for the local community within a tertiary service. The hospital manages approximately 2 500 births per year and has multiple models of care available for women and their families.

Generous remuneration package value up to $ 123,494 p.a. comprising:
• Salary range of $3863.10 to $4136.50 p.f. or $50.83 to $54.42 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
• 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:
• It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
• Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification is highly desirable.
• Demonstrates clinical skills in IV cannulation, water immersion in labour and waterbirth, perineal suturing and speculum examination. If not competent in these skills must be willing to undertake the necessary training within six months of commencement.
• The successful candidate will be required to complete The Townsville Hospital mandatory competencies and the Maternity Support Unit mandatory competencies, the Drug Therapy Protocol, Examination of the Newborn package and the Water Immersion in Labour package, within three months of commencement.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• Possession of class C drivers' licence.
• Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
• 6-month probation period.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
