Working in a Midwifery Group Practice Model of Care Pilot programme, you will provide direct woman-centred nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to women and families in the Riverland Mallee Coorong region. You will assess individual women’s needs and plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options, including other disciplines or agencies. Working as a Registered Midwife across all midwifery scope of practice within a midwifery team environment, you will be caring for children, youth, women and their families where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds. As part of your role, you will also provide supervision to student Midwives. This model of care works over one birthing site in the Riverland Mallee Coorong region - Riverland General Hospital, Berri. In Riverland Mallee Coorong region, we have established the continuity of care practice as standard. Dedicated to caseload midwifery, we will empower you to deliver the best possible care, with more hands-on involvement. Knowing that midwifery with Riverland Mallee Coorong is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in your community.
Employees classified at this level provide midwifery services in health service and community settings. Employees working within this level develop from novice practitioners to a proficient level of professional practice. They consolidate knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. An employee at this level accepts accountability for his or her own standards of midwifery care and for activities delegated to others.
You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
This is a more than one position part time vacancy, hours of work per fortnight to be negotiated and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements. COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Public Health Act 2011 (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) to work in SA Health/health care setting.
