About the role

As a Clinical Midwife – Caseload, you will:

• Provide primary midwifery care across pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal care
• Work within a low-risk caseload model, in collaboration with the wider healthcare team
• Deliver care across hospital and community settings, including liaison with Townsville University Hospital
• Provide clinical leadership, education and support to fellow midwives
• Participate in an on-call roster as part of the continuity of care model

What you’ll need

• Registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
• Bachelor or Diploma of Midwifery (or equivalent)
• Ability (or willingness to develop) skills in:
o IV cannulation
o Water immersion/water birth
o Perineal suturing
o Speculum examination
• Commitment to completing required competencies (EPA, newborn exam, etc.)
• A passion for woman-centred, continuity-based care

Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.

Additional info

This role may involve occasional travel within Townsville HHS for clinical activities, training, or service delivery.
