Membership Categories

Full Member

Full membership of the College is open to midwives and includes full member services, voting rights and eligibility to be a member of the Board of Directors and/or college advisory committees.

Your peak professional association

Associate Member

Associate membership is open to a midwives who are not currently in the paid workforce (e.g. retired, on maternity leave, undertaking post-registration studies) and midwives not currently working as a midwife but who wish to maintain membership of the College.

Associate members are entitled to full member services, and voting rights but are not eligible to be a member of the Board of Directors

Student Member

Student membership is be open to any person undertaking education in an accredited program to gain initial authorisation to practice midwifery.

Membership as a student member ceases on completion of the program of study. Student members are entitled to full member services, have voting rights and are eligible to be a member of the student advisory committee, but are not eligible to be a member of the Board of Directors.

Studying to become a midwife?

Consumer Member

Consumer membership is open to any person who has received or is interested in midwifery services and who supports the Objects of the College.

Consumer members are entitled to full member services, have voting rights and are eligible for a position on the consumer advisory committee, but are not eligible to be a member of the Board of Directors.
