Admission to Fellowship
Application for Fellowship
Application for Fellowship will only be accepted on the approved application form complete with relevant supporting documentation.
Applications received by the College no later than 30 June each year, will be considered for admission.
Applications must be endorsed by two (2) Fellows of the College.
Applications require two (2) written references, from persons in a position to support the applicant’s claims of significant contributions.
Applicants will be notified of the recommendation within 21 days of deliberation.
Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply for Fellowship when the criteria are met.
Payment of the Fellowship fee and other costs must be made to the College within twenty-one (21) days from the date of notification and before Fellowship will be conferred upon the member.
An annual fee applies to Fellowship recipients.
Fellowship Investiture will be held annually or at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
The College’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
A member who has been admitted to fellowship is known as a Fellow of the Australian College of Midwives and is entitled to place after her/his name the letters FACM.
A Distinguished Fellow shall be entitled to place after her/his name the letters FACM(Dist.).
An Honorary Fellow is entitled to place after her/his name the letters FACM(Hon.).
The College may revoke renewal of Fellowship for non-payment of the College fellowship fee and/or Branch membership fee within three (3) months of the due date of renewal, or if, in the opinion of the College, the Fellow has violated the code and regulations laid down by the College.
